CD Rancid – Let The Dominoes Fall (Expanded Version, 2CD + DVD)
DESCRIPTION
The US punk rockers with their first album in six years.
With “Let The Dominoes Fall”, one of the most successful US punk bands is back after a long break. It is the Californians’ seventh album in total and their first studio work since “Indestructible” (2003), which achieved platinum status in the USA. The quartet of Tim Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Lars Frederiksen (guitar), Matt Freeman (bass) and Branden Steineckert (drums) recorded the album at George Lucas’ Skywalker Sound Studio, with Epitaph founder and Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz acting as producer. The result is a versatile, vital album at the height of its time with 19 songs written by Rancid and a few surprises: “Up To No Good”, for example, features 60s soul legend Booker T. on Hammond B3 organ. But apart from that, “Let The Dominoes Fall” is pure punk rock: a milestone of the genre whose two-minute cracker every child will soon be singing along to. Lyrically, Rancid have matured and show empathy for the working population. A great album on which the Americans finally present themselves in their old form again.
